What to Expect at Your First Planning Session
You bring your questions. We bring a clear process. That’s it.
A first meeting with Elijah Heath, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU® isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a conversation about where you stand right now and where you’d like to be in five, ten, or twenty years. Many Providence Lakes residents come in with a mix of concerns. Maybe you’ve built equity in your home and you’re wondering how that fits into your bigger picture. Maybe you’re renting in the neighborhood and trying to figure out how to save for a down payment while still putting money aside for retirement. Both situations call for a plan, we just start from different places.
Here’s what a first session usually looks like:
- A review of your current income, savings, and any debts or obligations
- A look at what you’re already doing with employer retirement plans or other accounts
- A conversation about your goals and your timeline for reaching them
- An honest discussion about risk and what feels right for your household
We don’t rush through it. Providence Lakes has a younger population than a lot of nearby communities. That means many of the folks we sit down with are mid-career. They’ve got momentum but also competing priorities. Kids’ activities. Car payments. Student loans that still linger. A financial planner helps you sort through all of that noise and find a path forward.
And there’s no pressure to commit to anything during that first conversation. We want you to leave feeling clearer than when you walked in.
One thing we hear a lot from Providence Lakes area residents is that they’ve never actually sat down with someone to talk about money in a structured way. They’ve read articles online. They’ve opened a Roth IRA or picked a target-date fund in their 401(k). But nobody’s ever looked at the full picture for them. That’s what this session is for.
Elijah will ask about your tax situation too. Smart money decisions and tax planning go hand in hand. We keep it educational and general during that first meeting, then dig deeper once we understand your full situation.
The session typically runs about an hour. You can come to our office on Bloomingdale Ave, just a short drive from the Providence Lakes subdivision. But the real work starts after you leave. We take everything you shared and begin building a framework around it. No cookie-cutter templates. Your household near Providence Lakes has its own numbers, its own timeline, its own concerns.

Getting to Heath Wealth Management from Providence Lakes
The drive from Providence Lakes to our office at 620 E. Bloomingdale Ave is short. Most days it’s under ten minutes.
Here’s the route we’d suggest:
- 1Head north out of Providence Lakes on Providence Road. You’ll pass the community’s front entrance and the familiar stretch of single-family homes that line both sides.
- 2Turn left onto Bloomingdale Avenue heading west. You’ll cross the Providence Lakes Boulevard intersection where the road widens.
- 3Continue west on Bloomingdale past the plaza and the cluster of restaurants near Lithia Pinecrest Road.
- 4Our office is on the south side of Bloomingdale Ave, just past the intersection with Parsons Avenue. Look for the 620 E. Bloomingdale address on your right.
It’s a straight shot, really.
If you’re coming from the southern end of Providence Lakes near the lake itself, you can cut through to Providence Road using one of the neighborhood connector streets. But the main entrance off Providence Road is usually the fastest way out, especially if you’re heading to a morning meeting with us before the school traffic picks up.
There’s plenty to do near our office if you want to combine your visit with errands. The area around our office has easy parking, so you won’t circle a lot looking for a spot.
Elijah Heath, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU® drives through the Providence Lakes area regularly and knows this stretch of Brandon well. The neighborhood’s mix of homeowners and renters creates a wide range of financial planning needs, from families building equity to renters thinking about their first home purchase. We see both situations often.
If getting to us during business hours doesn’t work for your schedule, call ahead. We try to be flexible for Providence Lakes area residents who are juggling work commutes toward Tampa or shift schedules at the nearby medical offices along Bloomingdale.
Smart money starts with a conversation. Call us at 813-556-7171 to schedule a time that works for you. We’re right down the road from Providence Lakes, and we’d like to sit down and talk about what’s ahead for your finances.
Providence Lakes: A Snapshot of the Neighborhood
Providence Lakes is an established community, not brand-new construction and not old Florida ranch houses either. Barrel-tile roofs and stucco exteriors line streets like Providence Lakes Boulevard and Lake Providence Drive. These are homes that have settled into their neighborhoods.
The neighborhood itself is a real mix.
Some of the homes are single-family detached houses. Others are townhomes and smaller attached units tucked along the community’s interior roads. There’s also a strong renter population here, which changes the financial picture compared to neighborhoods that skew heavily toward homeowners. Renters near Providence Lakes are often building savings for a first home purchase, while owners are thinking about equity, property taxes, and whether to refinance or pay down the mortgage faster.
Many households here are middle-income families facing a specific set of financial decisions:
- Balancing retirement contributions with the cost of living along the Bloomingdale corridor
- Figuring out how much house they can really afford
- Managing debt from car loans or student loans while still putting money aside
- Deciding whether a 529 plan makes sense for kids in local schools
This is a community with a lot of residents in their peak earning years, often juggling daycare costs, maybe a second car payment, and the pressure of keeping up with a growing household budget.
Smart money decisions at this stage look different than they do later in life. It’s less about preserving wealth and more about building a foundation, setting up the right accounts, automating contributions, and making sure you’re not leaving employer match dollars on the table.
Here’s what makes Providence Lakes a little different from other Brandon neighborhoods. The mix of renters and owners creates a community where people are constantly moving forward. Renters become buyers. Buyers become investors. A young couple renting a townhome off Lake Providence Drive today might be shopping for a single-family home next year. Each of those transitions triggers financial questions that a financial planner can help sort through before they become expensive mistakes.
We drive through Providence Lakes regularly on our way to and from client meetings along Bloomingdale Avenue. The neighborhood has a calm, established feel, and that long-term mindset pairs well with long-term financial planning.
